I'm Susan Brown. For twenty years I've run conferences, customer events, exhibition programmes and regulated meetings for technology, industrial, pharmaceutical and trade body clients — and they keep booking me again.
Event director for four consecutive editions of the Forum's flagship two-day London summit, with sponsors including Nvidia, Qualcomm and Nokia, global mobile operators, and regulators including Ofcom and BEREC. I built the Forum's annual events plan, and manage speakers and the pavilion for its Saudi Arabia editions.
Two customer conferences in London — The Royal Institution with Professor Brian Cox, which won Best Customer Event at the CRN Sales & Marketing Awards, then Leicester Square with Louis Theroux. When Codestone wanted to reach more customers, I mapped where they were and designed a programme of regional customer advisory boards to follow.
Eleven consecutive years delivering BOC's Long Service Awards. A six-show UK exhibition programme at the NEC, with hydrogen-powered stand lighting indoors and LNG-fuelled trucks outside. And the 2018 opening of the Kittybrewster hydrogen refuelling facility in Aberdeen, with Toyota, Hyundai and Aberdeen City Council.
Susan is an outstanding events professional, with a lot of knowledge and years of experience. We have used Susan for several years as an outsourced Event Manager to run the full operations for our two-day global conference. She is everything you need in an Ops person; cool, calm and collected, whilst being organised and proactive. She's also a lovely person and good fun to work with, which makes all the difference.
Customs impounded every printed document for a 300-delegate medical meeting, expecting a payment. We didn't pay. I flew our printer out, reprinted locally and opened on time.
Our delegation's minibus was hijacked during a trade mission. I got everyone back to the hotel safely, worked with the police, and changed transport provider for the rest of the week.
A Lufthansa strike stranded half of a 150-delegate meeting mid-event. Around 75 flights rebooked, extra nights arranged and every transfer rescheduled.
I take projects from brief to live delivery and own everything in between — venues and suppliers, budgets, speakers, logistics and the onsite running order.
Customer conferences, advisory boards, executive roundtables and VIP hospitality, in heritage and non-standard venues as well as conference centres.
Flagship annual events for trade bodies and associations — programme, speaker operations, sponsorship packages and delivery, awards and media partnerships.
Investigator meetings for 20–500 physicians and advisory boards, delivered under country approval regimes including CNOM and MDEON, with transfer-of-value declarations.
Multi-show annual programmes, stands from 9m² to 100m² and country pavilions to 1,000m² — including builds with hazardous materials and novel energy exhibits.
Annual events plans, format design and audience mapping — deciding where events should happen, which ones deserve investment, and what shape they should take.
Hosting at head-of-government level — close protection liaison, route and timing, briefings and media handling.
I began in association events, ran UK pavilions and trade missions across the Middle East, Asia and the Americas for the Energy Industries Council, and managed global clinical education programmes at INC Research before going freelance in 2016.
Since then I've worked directly with leadership teams and through clinical research organisations and specialist agencies — on events where the regulatory setting, the venue or the guest list means there's no room for improvisation.

It's why I can run four to six live events at once without anything slipping. Home-based through planning, on site for recces, builds and delivery, and available to travel at short notice.
Contracting through SB Events Limited, with £2m public liability and £1m professional indemnity cover.
Tasks, owners and deadlines visible to everyone, worked backwards from the dates that can't move.
Every call runs to an agenda and ends with a contact report, so actions are chased from the page, not from memory.
Running order, contacts, catering, dietary requirements and table plans in one document that doubles as the final check.
Lessons and return on investment reviewed with the client and with every supplier, so the next edition is better than the last.
Tell me what you're working on. I'm happy to talk through a brief before anything is agreed.
